Okay, first things first, this book is so pretty. It’s got these amazing illustrations, there are black title pages, and the Cherokee syllabary is used not only in the stories but also in the artwork. And the cover is amazing–just look at that pic!

Visuals aside, the stories are fantastic. I struggle with short story collections, since I read for the characters, but this collection. This. Collection. It’s got vampires and settler colonialism, werewolves and classic cars, aliens in swimming pools…I mean, there’s so much going on and all of it is amazing.
